After India's 10-wicket defeat against England in ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Wasim Akram slammed IPL, told how young bowlers are getting ruined
Team India's journey in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is over. India suffered a 10-wicket loss against England in the semi-finals. After this defeat, Wasim Akram has lambasted the IPL.
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has lambasted the Indian Premier League (IPL) over India's humiliating defeat against England in the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Akram reveals how IPL is ruining young fast bowlers. During this, Wasim Akram also gave the example of Avesh Khan and told how bowlers lose their pace only after playing a season.
Wasim Akram said in The Pavilion Show of A Sports, 'Talking about IPL, right now in the Asia Cup all my friends Indian teammates, with whom I have also worked. We all met and talked. So I was talking to them that Indian fast bowlers who come, which I have noted, they have a fast bowler like Avesh Khan for example. He used to bowl at 145 kmph, he used to do 140+ consistent, but after one season he came down to 130. They lose their pace in one season.
Wasim Akram further said, 'First of all, the BCCI has to check why this is happening. Because he is getting around Rs 12-13 crore. I don't mind money, but I think there should be a cap for young players. Even in IPL that new guy is coming, it can't get more than this. So that he would know what hunger is.
